Cadet Non Commissioned Officers
The Cadet NCO team is made up of cadets from the Squadron who have shown their potential and have been given the opportunity to lead. Promotions are made by the Squadron Commanding Officer up to the rank of Cadet Flight Sergeant, promotion to Cadet Warrant Officer (the highest rank a cadet can reach) is made by the Wing Commander.

All cadet NCOs are responsible for Drill, Discipline, Dress and Deportment at varying levels of the Squadron.  They are responsible to the Squadron SNCO IC Drill & Discipline who is currently an ATC Sergeant for these matters.  Goals, objectives and advancement procedures are dictated by Air Cadet Publication (ACP) 20A Training and ACP 20B Administration in addition to the Commanding Officers requirements.

Cadets are promoted into the NCO ranks based entirely on the merit of their performance at the unit over a period of time and the decision to promote is made by the CO; this decision is not for debate and is final.  Parents and guardians have no say over who does and does not get promoted at the unit.

Cadet Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO) Responsibilities

The roles and expectations of Cadet JNCOs is set out in this document.  Essentially, all NCOs are responsible for the Drill, Discipline, Dress and Deportment of cadets placed in their charge at a base level.  They will be expected to control a section or flight of cadets and ensure that they are trained in the basic drill and deportment standards of the unit.

Cadet Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) Responsibilities

The roles and expectations of Cadet SNCOs is set out in this document.  Again, SNCOs are responsible for Drill, Discipline, Dress and Deportment of cadets and JNCOs placed in their charge.  The top-rank cadet, the Cadet Warrant Officer, essentially acts as a link between the Adult Staff and the cadets themselves; they are able to transmit the requirements of the cadets to the staff and ensure that their direct interests are served at all times.
