2510 Squadron teaches leadership, self-reliance and initiative from the time a cadet joins the Squadron to the time they leave. During their service, cadets will have the opportunity to progress through the cadet Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) rank structure from Cadet to Cadet Warrant Officer and attend Squadron/Wing/Region and Corps operated Leadership courses. As an organisation, the ATC wishes to develop the future leaders of tomorrow!

At a Squadron level, a cadets leadership develops right from day one when they join the unit. Cadets will be expected to perform tasks and achieve objectives given to them by superior cadet NCOs, non-uniformed and uniformed adult staff. They will be constantly assessed in their leadership abilities and if they show potential, they may be selected to attend a Wing Pre-NCO course or Junior NCO course. If they are promoted to the rank of Cadet Corporal, they may be selected to attend a Wing Senior NCO course which is a pre-requisite for further promotion through the rank structure.
In addition to Squadron and Wing leadership development training, cadets have the chance to attend Corps level leadership courses such as the Junior Leaders Course or Frimley Park Tri-Service leadership course. These courses teach cadets to lead groups of cadets and staff through tough and challenging exercises. Upon completion of these courses, cadets are awarded with certificates and badges for their uniforms; most importantly of all, they are armed with the knowledge that they have completed some of the toughest courses the Corps has to offer! The video above gives a brief overview of the Junior Leaders course!
